The Ghost of Jeffrey Epstein Roams Again - Netflix's "Scoop" + Prince Andrew's Struggle to Take on Role in The Firm

The last time that the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein haunted the world was at the doc drop containing names of people in high places. Just before that, perhaps a coincidence, Friend of Jeffrey Leon Black and his wife left town with their physical security team.

Now, the ghost is stirring again. Today Netflix streams the film "Scoop" about how the BBC's "Newsnight" landed the interview with Prince Andrew. In that interview to the surprise of many the Prince, known in his youth as a gregarious fellow, failed to engage. He was stiff. There was no remorse about having had Epstein as a bro. In reference to what Epstein was about the Prince used the puzzling term "unbecoming." The fallout had been global.

Simultaneously, given the medical problems sidelining the front lines of the monarchy, the Prince recently has been struggling to worm his way back in. That has been in a very visible manner and it could accelerate the toppling of The Firm. Those operating what's left of that post-Queen Elizabeth's death should have blocked the public re-emergence of Andrew. No, we don't care that his former wife Fergie also has had her share of medical challenges. He can never move past the BBC interview.

So, those who might have feeling that reputation restoration was upon them for being a Friend of Epstein might have to wait a bit longer. They range from Black to Jes Staley (former head of Barclays).

Meanwhile, the long half life of the Epstein saga could get more time if Ghislaine Maxwell opens up. The chatter is that she has become weary of being a guest of the state. She is assessed as ready to make some kind of move.

So many of us regret relationships. But few have been as sticky in how they poisoned our lives as has being a Friend of Jeffrey for those in the loop. In my coaching I warn clients about guilt by association. That includes whom they nurture as allies and mentors.
